PM Technician - 2nd Shift

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time

SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday | 12 PM - 10 PM

COMPENSATION:

  • Base Pay: $21.75 - $26 (contingent on experience/skill level with room for growth)

  • Shift Premium: 5% (added once trained and working 2nd shift schedule)

Job Overview

PM Technician is responsible for supporting equipment reliability through the completion of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, and minor repairs on manufacturing equipment. This role plays a critical part in reducing equipment downtime, identifying potential mechanical issues before failure occurs, and maintaining safe, efficient production operations.

    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to the established PM schedule.

    • Conduct lubrication, oil changes, cleaning, and other routine service on production equipment.

    • Clean and maintain cold heading machine pits, chutes, and surrounding areas.

    • Inspect machines and equipment to identify wear, safety concerns, or potential mechanical issues.

    • Report abnormal machine conditions to Maintenance leadership.

    • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability.

    • Perform minor mechanical repairs as needed.

    • Assist with equipment repairs and troubleshooting when required.

    • Maintain tools and equipment used for maintenance work.

    • Generate and close preventive maintenance work orders in the PLEX ERP system.

    • Record maintenance activities accurately and ensure PM completion is properly documented.

    • Operate Hilo/Forklift to move product to required machines/areas as needed.

    • Participate in all continuous improvement initiatives and duties within the department.

    • Cross-train in other positions and perform other duties in the department as needed.

    • Perform other duties/assignments per the direction of the Tool Room/21Maintenance Supervisor.

    • High school diploma or GED.

    • Minimum of two years of work experience in maintenance, manufacturing, automotive repair, facilities maintenance, or related mechanical role.

    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

    • Ability to perform basic welding tasks.

    • Ability to safely use hand tools and basic maintenance equipment.

    • Strong attention to detail skills and organizational skills.

    • Basic computer/data entry skills. 

    • Ability to manage time effectively and follow a preventive maintenance schedule.

    • Commitment to workplace safety.

    • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

    • Capable of performing repetitive actions with hands for inspecting parts, as well as occasional bending and stooping.

    • Must abide by the Fastco safety procedures due to the hazards in the manufacturing work environment, including hearing protection, eye protection, and proper footwear and clothing.
