MACHINE REPAIR TECHNICIAN - 3RD SHIFT

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time

TRAINING SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday | 7 AM - 3 PM

SCHEDULE: Sunday - Wednesday | 9 PM - 7 AM

COMPENSATION: $24.50 - $29 (contingent on experience/skill level with room for growth) 10% Shift Premium (upon completion of training and working 3rd shift schedule), Weekly pay

  • The Machine Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment to support safe and efficient production operations. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime by responding to equipment failures, performing corrective repairs, and assisting in rebuilding and restoring machinery to optimal working conditions.

    • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues on production equipment.

    • Perform timely repairs on machines experiencing unexpected breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

    • Disassemble, repair, and rebuild machinery and equipment components as needed.

    • Troubleshoot reoccurring equipment issues and assist in identifying root causes.

    • Perform welding and fabrication work to repair or modify machine components.

    • Operate machining equipment, including the Leblond lathe, Bridgeport mill, and surface grinder to fabricate or repair parts.

    • Assist in developing and implementing repair solutions to improve equipment reliability.

    • Coordinate with Maintenance leadership to identify and order necessary replacement parts and materials.

    • Accurately document repair activities, downtime, and work performed in maintenance systems.

    • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.

    • Operate forklifts to move materials, components or equipment as needed.

    • Cross-train in other maintenance roles and provide support as needed.

    • Participate in all continuous improvement initiatives and duties within the department.

    • Perform other duties/assignments per the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

    • High School Diploma or GED.

    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in machine repair, maintenance, millwright work, or related mechanical field preferred.

    • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

    • Experience in welding and fabrication techniques.

    • Experience operating manual machining equipment (lathe, mill, and grinder).

    • Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.

    • Effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

    • Basic computer and data entry skills for work order documentation.

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety.

    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, or manuals preferred.

    • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

    • Capable of performing repetitive actions with hands for inspecting parts, as well as occasional bending and stooping.

    • Must abide by the Fastco safety procedures due to the hazards in the manufacturing work environment, including hearing protection, eye protection, and proper footwear and clothing.
